Multiple sclorosis <\/b><b>is a disease that affects pretty much your whole body. Let us go back to when she was first diagnosed in May 2009. \u201cI felt like everyone began to step away from me when they found out.\u201d, stated Houda. When she first found out she started crying on the spot. She felt like, \u201cNo one was understanding me because I was sick.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cIt has been a long journey.\u201d Houda started to not focus on herself because she felt like, \u201cI had to support them more than she had to support herself.\u201d Unfortunately, there is no cure for Multiple sclerosis, but she started a new treatment that is overseas.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Being a patient of M.S for almost 10 years, \u201cThe M.S has affected my life in a way to adjust <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/a79jdVeKl-WLt63DeZRxvdmA8_BepwhXS031DlOBBoHFSHJGjtndV-_aYdQ69RewqCCSzeRgQIkvHlMBsA68kgDe3eGqClFwPUcQJHPqoOGg-O8KeqJGgBwVcSpaxrJ-14Lpmj09\" width=\"148\" height=\"263\" \/>with the disease.\u201d Besides all the pain she is going through, Houda is very grateful that she has the opportunity to do this treatment overseas In Lebanon. She has lost over 40 pounds during the course of 6 months. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>When Houda first got the bad news doctors told her <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/vqMfcG5kTfvyU3rS1hENbBVUsGfAe47a2M5-_sai207r_iTPlt63WfrpizaNrIsP2qiAIIQ7CZ_D_dSgKAwEWfmLIsMpq7qSQkWMZHzc\" \/>that in six months she will be unable to move. \u201cHere I am almost 10 years later still being able to move like a normal person.\u201d \u00a0Houda wasn\u2019t able have children,m when she recieved the news she was beyond upset. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Houda is grateful no matter what happens because she has the opportunity to help her M.S get better, \u201cI feel like a lot of people stepped away when they <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/5aLx7uR9QmB0yHZBLtBHArrsnTPETdRy_hMa6SbDGtQSEPpA_dIabI6iwsjll4Pj5fNdT-kbefa7jtEKEC9pw6Ratu9FSRV5hvgk24RjklXQWyYyxR5nPo4pxuFeKrXXAa9s1G0o\" width=\"355\" height=\"631\" \/>found out that it is not temporary. \u201cAs long as there is still a lot of people who care about me I will always feel blessed and thankful.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>-Mirna Assi<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It all happened when Houda Assaf started to get \u201csymptoms that were unlike anything I had had before starting around November 2008.\u201d May 2009, that was when Houda had been diagnosed with multiple sclorosis.
