The problem presented is rather or not they should higher or lower the driving age limit, depending on the state.

Some people who are saying these statements happen to be pretty old. We’re not talking about 40 or 50 years old, we’re talking senior citizen old.

Assad Salman, a retired senior from Windsor, thinks that the driving age should be upped by a pretty significant age.

He said around 22 years of age is when it’s the right time for people to go behind the wheel.

And even though he’s a Canadian citizen talking about America’s driving age, he brings up a pretty good point.

”The worst types of people on the roads are drunks and young people, but especially drunks!” he exclaimed thoroughly.

And this opinion has some truth to it. A study about DUI’s (Driving Under the Influence) from BACtrack.com claimed that in 2010, over 10,000 people have died from drunk drivers that year.

But old people aren’t the only ones with opinions about this topic. 13-Year-old Khodar Baydoun had something to say about this. “I don’t think it should be modified at all”, he started. “It’s perfect at 16.”

Now even though he’s only 13, it makes sense. Basically, when you have young people driving, it gives them a responsibility that they can be proud of but is also really serious.

This means that with a crucial task like this on their hands, older people will start taking younger people more seriously.

Now, of course, not ALL young people think that “16’s perfect.” Layale Bazzi is a college student from UW (University of Windsor) and recently got her license a few years ago.

She said that when she was as young as 15 years old, she was practising driving in parking lots with her parents. And this was BEFORE she got her permit.

“Teenagers should start taking driving courses early in their lives, that way they’ll be better prepared for when they’re on their own.” She explained.

And with that, she also states that even though she started at age 15 with her parents, 18 is the better age when it comes to first driving by yourself.

In Conclusion, everyone is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to driving at certain ages.
