Rezoning is where the owner of a place, gives a different location where they must go. In Dearborn Public schools they have assigned each middl<\/span>\"\"e school a high school where every student in that school must go to.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"There are lots of different opinions on this idea, there are people who agree with this idea. 8th grade student Jessica Mrech, stated that \u201c I do think the rezoning is a good idea, because schools now are just too crowded, then there are schools who don\u2019t have enough kids.\u201d In Fordson they have 3,000 kids in their schools, but in high school Edsel where they only have a 1,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

But there are some students who disagree with the idea of rezoning that they shouldn\u2019t decide where each student should go. Unis middle school 8th grade student Sara Mansour stated, that\u201d No they shouldn\u2019t decide what school we should what if the school is too far, not that many parents have time to drive that much or people who walk would get tired and sick when it\u2019s cold.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Many students many live far away from the school where they are assigned to, then the other school they could’ve chosen to go to. Parent of 8th grade student Heidar Salman said,\u201d If my daughter, went to Dearborn High that would be a 20 minute drive, just to get there, when I could be picking her up from Fordson in 7 minutes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Some students have a hard time making new friends, they might only want their friends from there old schools, because they got comfortable with them. 8th grade student Sura Alajim, stated \u201c I want them to do the rezoning because most people from the school would be people that went to my old school, I can stay with my close friends<\/span>\"\".\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Schools now are overcrowded there are too many students in there, many students are late because there just trying to fight their way through all the students. Jessica Mrech stated, that,\u201d they put the rezoning because there are too many people in one school, there would be lots of students just in one class and make it harder to learn, and we get bad grades.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Some people may agree with the idea for rezoning and some may not, but they are still going to the rezoning, too many students are inside the school, they don\u2019t even have enough classrooms to fit everyone in.<\/span><\/p>\n
