{"id":2120,"date":"2017-12-03T21:42:25","date_gmt":"2017-12-04T02:42:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/?p=2120"},"modified":"2017-12-03T21:42:25","modified_gmt":"2017-12-04T02:42:25","slug":"is-death-to-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/2017\/12\/03\/is-death-to-far\/","title":{"rendered":"Is Death to Far?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Death Penalty, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deathpenaltyinfo.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/deathpenaltyinfo.org\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u00a8Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is a government sanctioned practice whereby a person is put to death by the state as a punishment for a crime.\u201d In 2017, the total number of states that allowed the death penalty, is 32 states, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticbrain.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.statisticbrain.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Though, the question is, Should the Death Penalty be allowed in all 50 states?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0The total number of executions in America, since 1978, until right now, is 1,392. The current number of death row inmates right now, is 3,035. These statistics are owned to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticbrain.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.statisticbrain.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I asked a neighbor, Suliman Heindiya, if he thinks that the Death Penalty should be allowed, and he said, \u00a8 Of course not, this is by far one of the worst inventions on this free land.\u00a8 The percent of counties in the U.S. that have not had one person executed in U.S. years, is 85%, According to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticbrain.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.statisticbrain.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0The percent of people who support the death penalty, is 65%. This is according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticbrain.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.statisticbrain.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I asked one of my friends Daoud Dabaja if he supports, allowing the Death Penalty, and he said, \u00a8 Yes, I support the Death Penalty, because it will show the criminal that he should never do what he or she did, and that person should not ever go against there country.\u00a8 This is a person who would like to allow the death penalty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is Daoud Dabaja (Eighth Grader)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0The death penalty is in a very rare case. To be sentenced to death, you would have to make a big impact on people, or go around killing everyone. The number of people sentenced to death in 2017, is 23 people, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statisticbrain.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.statisticbrain.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. I asked an eighth grader at Unis, Ahmed Taleb, if he thinks that the crime rates would rise or drop, if the death penalty is allowed. He said, \u201cI think that the crime rate would drop if the death penalty is allowed, because more criminals would realize if they make a horrific crime, they would be sentenced to death.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">\u00a0 Usually, many people would want to get away from crime. In today\u2019s society, people want to be criminals, and want jail time. Overall, if the death penalty is allowed in all 50 states, I think that it would cause less crime convictions, and it would get rid of all horrific criminals.
