Pollution occurs when the natural environment cannot destroy an element without creating haram or damage to itself. The elements involved are not produced by nature, and the destroying process can vary from a few days to thousands of years. In other words, pollution takes place when nature does not know how to decompose an element that has been brought to it in an unnatural way.

Pollution must be taken seriously, as it has a negative effect on natural elements that are an absolute need for life to exist on earth, such as water and air. We can identify several types of pollution on earth, such as air pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution. Even smoke from burning leaves and cigarettes are harmful to the environment causing a lot of damage to man and the atmosphere.

Hanna Alfasih, an 8th grader at Unis Middle School, explained, “I think environmental pollution is pollution caused by factories, buildings, cars, and things that we use today that causes pollution. It’s always caused by citizens littering.” Another student, Hussein Alsaidi, quotes, “We should use more things run by electricity and solar energy. Back then, people would survive longer than they do now because most things that we use today deals with pollution. Air pollution is by far the most harmful form of pollution in our environment. Air pollution is caused by the injurious smoke emitted by cars, buses, trucks, trains, and factories, namely sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.

In conclusion, environmental pollution is bad for our environment and the people surrounding us.
