Basically this question is asking should people be allowed to decide if they want to end their life or not. Physician assisted suicide is called, Euthanasia. I think a person should have the right to decide if they want to die or not. Also, a doctor can&#8217;t tell its patient what to do, if a patient wants physician assisted suicide than a doctor can\u2019t tell them no. There are no signs of any form or indications that the families of ill patients regretted having had this option available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2017\/05\/images.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1824 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2017\/05\/images.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"281\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a>Euthanasia is prohibited in all 50 states under homicide laws. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jack Kevorkian is a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Euthanasia doctor <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who assisted people suffering from acute medical conditions in ending their lives<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. People call him \u201cDoctor Death\u201d but many consider him as a hero. Jack assisted 130 patients. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1999, he was arrested and tried for his direct role in a case of voluntary <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">euthanasia<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> . He was convicted of second degree murder and served eight years of a 10-to-25-year prison sentence.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He was released on parole on June 1, 2007, on condition he would not offer advice, participate, or be present in the act of any type of suicide involving euthanasia to any other person. As well as neither promote nor talk about the procedure of assisted suicide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Craig Schonegevel has been struggling 28 years of neurofibromatosis, which is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a condition that causes tumors to form in the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. He had so many surgical procedures and decided his quality of life was too poor. He couldn\u2019t find a legal assistance to help him die. On the night of September 1, 2009, he swallowed 12 sleeping pills and wrapped 2 plastic bags over his head tied with elastic bands and was found dead by his parents the next morning. Craig wanted to end his life legally a<a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2017\/05\/url.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1823 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2017\/05\/url.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"244\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2017\/05\/url.jpg 225w, https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/journalism\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/929\/2017\/05\/url-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/><\/a>ssisted but the legal system denied him. If a patient can\u2019t take all the medicine and surgery, than they should have the option of physician assisted suicide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPeople should choose if they want to die or not,\u201d Fatme Jouni said. Fatme Jouni is a 11th grader at Fordson High School. \u201cNormally if you\u2019re in the hospital for too long you get annoyed and you feel locked in,\u201d she said. \u201cMany patients in hospitals are in a lot of pain at the point where they can\u2019t even get up and some have to stay in a hospital for years so they should have this option available. Staying in a hospital, in pain most of your life isn\u2019t really a good life at all.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Euthanasia is administered by giving lethal doses of painkillers or other drugs. Also, the uses of starvation, plastic bag to suffocate, carbon monoxide is a \u201cpeaceful pill\u201d to euthanize are also in practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In conclusion, this is why I think people should have a choice of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">physician assisted suicide. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A person has all kinds of choices in life like what kind of career they want to have or who they will marry, so why can\u2019t one be if they want to end their life or not. Whether you are ill or are very old, you still should have this option. In my opinion having an option of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">physician assisted suicide is better than living in pain.
