Anijah is a Christian who believes that she, “respects her parents,” and, “doesn’t steal,” and this has a lot to do with her religion. She believes that Christianity has impacted and shaped her for the better.

I also interviewed Ayah Berro, an 8th grader at Unis, who also believes that her religion has shaped her life. Ayah takes her religion very seriously by meeting the standards such as praying and fasting during Ashura. She stated, “When I do what I have to do for my religion, I feel extremely proud to be a Muslim. I believe the same goes for people in other religions.”

I interviewed a nearby Jewish Synagogue who haven’t responded yet. However, from basic and prior knowledge, I know that Jews have many different beliefs and holidays such as Hanukkah, The Sabbath, Rosh Chodesh(The New Month), and Rosh Hashanah(Jewish New Year). As you can see, although they have many differences, there are also similarities in religions such as New Years.

I also interviewed StillPoint Buddhist temple, who have also not yet responded. This is another example of a different religion in our community. There are many Buddhists in our community that have many different cuisines and holidays. Just how Christianity and Judaism have many differences, so do other religions. Buddhists have many interesting holidays such as Vesak, Magha Puja, and Asalha Puja.

All religions have their own cultures and traditions that are interesting to learn about. It is extremely fun learning about the ways other people live and their beliefs. If you’re interested, you can find many churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples near you. You will have an amazing, fun and learning experience undoubtedly!

Dallia Alsaidi

Middle School Journalist

There are many different religions out there that are extremely interesting to learn about.
