{"id":170,"date":"2016-10-23T12:56:33","date_gmt":"2016-10-23T16:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/johnstk\/?p=170"},"modified":"2016-10-28T11:08:07","modified_gmt":"2016-10-28T15:08:07","slug":"whoitmore-bolles-mentoring-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/johnstk\/2016\/10\/23\/whoitmore-bolles-mentoring-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Whitmore Bolles Mentoring Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!<\/p>\n<div>The\u00a0<span class=\"il\">mentoring<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">program<\/span>\u00a0will be returning\u00a0this year at\u00a0Whitmore Bolles. \u00a0The Whitmore-Bolles Elementary School\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Mentoring<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Program<\/span>\u00a0is a\u00a0<span class=\"il\">program<\/span>\u00a0aimed at developing a learning, sharing, and helping relationship between a student and an University of Michigan-Dearborn student volunteer.\u00a0\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Mentors<\/span>\u00a0will be students from the University of Michigan-Dearborn student group,\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Mentors<\/span>\u00a0for a Brighter Day.\u00a0\u00a0The adult\u00a0<span class=\"il\">mentors<\/span>\u00a0serve as positive role models who offer the student guidance and support in growing socially, emotionally, and academically.\u00a0\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Mentors<\/span>\u00a0will meet with their student mentees on a monthly basis during the designated lunch time in order to have special one on one time to do an activity, work on an academic task, or simply talk and have lunch together.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">It is our hope that the returning\u00a0<span class=\"il\">mentors<\/span>\u00a0will be able to still be paired with some of their same students as last year.\u00a0 However, there are no guarantees and new matches may need to be made.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div>If you would like your child or student to be involved in the mentoring program, please email me directly and I would be happy to pass along a permission slip in order for your child to be involved in the program.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Enjoy the rest of the weekend!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello!
