Please let your child be in charge of his\/her Owl Folder. This is an important year for growing good homework habits. \u00a0Look at your child\u2019s Owl Folder\/Planner together every day with him\/her, and then give the responsibility for taking care of it to him\/her.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here is the procedure for graded work.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any graded work will have a % score on it. I typically write a fraction that shows how many points were earned over the number of points possible.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Graded work MUST be signed by a parent\/guardian and returned to school the following day.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I keep a record of work that has been returned.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I ask you to do this because I want you to be aware of your child\u2019s ongoing grades and I also want you to go over the work with your child. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are also times when I make a mistake. It doesn\u2019t happen often, but it happens!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do NOT throw away graded work. \u00a0You will get it all back at the end of the marking period, along with your child\u2019s report card.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All graded work has been used to calculate and average your child\u2019s report card grades.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Report Card Grades<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1=95% or above<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2=80%-94%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3=70%-79%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4= 69% and below<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work with a checkmark at the top does not need to be returned and is not entered into the gradebook. We have reviewed it in class.
