How can we make the world a better place, a cleaner place?

When you get a chance, write about recycling. (How can we clean up the Earth? How can we make the world a better place? Why is it important to recycle?) In the story below, all the garbage goes on a barge. What if mountains of garbage surrounded the cities? What might happen if nobody bothers to clean things up? What could we do with some of the garbage? Could art teachers use some of it? Write a story about garbage or cleaning things up or making the world a better place.
