{"id":263,"date":"2014-02-22T18:00:53","date_gmt":"2014-02-22T23:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/jamieson\/?p=263"},"modified":"2014-02-22T18:00:53","modified_gmt":"2014-02-22T23:00:53","slug":"attention-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/jamieson\/2014\/02\/22\/attention-researchers\/","title":{"rendered":"Attention Researchers:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While I applaud your enthusiasm regarding this very important research project, you emails and posts are getting OUT OF CONTROL. \u00a0Like for real, I have answered no less than 54 separate emails and posts. \u00a054. \u00a0That is not a hyperbolic attempt to shock you, that is the actual number. \u00a0I only have 59 students total. \u00a0So if you think this post is directed towards you, it is. <em>\u00a0ALL OF YOU. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Let me be perfectly clear here, since the notes I gave in class, the notes I posted on the blog, the MLA unit you all completed last year, AND repeated formative exercises done together in class have not been enough to help you understand:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ANY WORDS OR IDEAS (IMAGES COUNT AS BOTH OF THOSE THINGS) THAT ARE NOT YOUR OWN NEED TO BE PROPERLY CITED, BOTH PARENTHETICALLY AS WELL AS ON YOUR WORKS CITED PAGE. \u00a0ALL OF THEM. \u00a0ALL. \u00a0OF. \u00a0THEM.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I can&#8217;t be any clearer than that. \u00a0I will not longer be answering any questions regarding this issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In addition, the annotated bib is a completely separate assignment, due on a totally different day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Lastly, as I stated on the day I explained the rubric, you must turn in a hard copy of your works cited page with your project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the future, before frantically dashing off your 5th email to me, first try looking at the rubric. \u00a0Second, try going over your notes. \u00a0Third, try thinking about the information we discussed in class. \u00a0And fourth, try trusting your own judgement. \u00a0You are all very smart people, the smartest in the tenth grade actually, there are some things that you can figure out on your own.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And guess what, if you get something wrong on this project&#8230;THE WORLD WILL NOT END. \u00a0You will not fail LA 4. \u00a0You will still get into college. \u00a0Your life will be ok. \u00a0I promise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While I applaud your enthusiasm regarding this very important research project, you emails and posts are getting OUT OF CONTROL. \u00a0Like for real, I have answered no less than 54 separate emails and posts. \u00a054. \u00a0That is not a hyperbolic attempt to shock you, that is the actual number. \u00a0I only have 59 students total.
