{"id":784,"date":"2018-09-05T15:04:25","date_gmt":"2018-09-05T19:04:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/izbicki\/?p=784"},"modified":"2018-09-05T15:04:25","modified_gmt":"2018-09-05T19:04:25","slug":"math-homework-nwea-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/izbicki\/2018\/09\/05\/math-homework-nwea-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"Math Homework\/NWEA Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parents,<\/p>\n<p>Math homework will begin next week, once we start Lesson 1.\u00a0 The students have been introduced to the first Topic in Module 1, which is focused on Place Value.\u00a0 We have taken a pre-test and looked at vocabulary words for Topic A.\u00a0 Before I begin Lesson 1, I want take the NWEA Math test, that way we can be done with testing and dig in to the first Topic without interruption. So, we will testing tomorrow and Friday for Math and Language Usage.<\/p>\n<p>Look for the day&#8217;s homework assignment in their planner or in my weekly newsletter.\u00a0 It will always be practice from that day&#8217;s lesson.\u00a0 So the first homework assignment will be given on Monday.\u00a0 See the Math Homework Expectation letter below.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a04th Grade Math Homework Expectations<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dear Parents,<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your child has received a Math Homework workbook that includes homework pages for each lesson that was taught to them in class. \u00a0After a lesson has been taught, the teacher will assign the homework assignment that needs to be done at home. All homework assignments will be a review and extra practice on that day\u2019s lesson. \u00a0Look for the exact assignment for the day\/week in your child\u2019s planner each night and\/or the blog. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your child can keep this Math Homework workbook at home during the week. \u00a0We are going to ask that students bring their workbook to school each Friday (or a specific day told by the teacher) so that it can be checked. \u00a0Homework will be counted as a credit\/no credit participation grade. We will not go through and mark questions correct or incorrect. If your child struggled with a specific problem\/s, we will be happy to go over it with them in class. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eureka Math is a new math program that the district purchased for all grade levels this year. We are learning and determined to implement this program and utilize the materials with success, so this will be a learning experience for all of us:)\u00a0 Thank you for your support and help at home with ensuring your child is getting the most from this new program.
