4th Hour –

Algebra 1 students took their first quiz on Sections 8.1 & 8.2. If you were absent, please see me to schedule a time after school to take the quiz. Students also began Section 8.3 – Multiplication Property of Exponents. There is no HW due tomorrow. Attached below is today’s bellwork and notes.

Today, students continued reviewing the concepts from Sections 8.1 and 8.2 – Zero and Negative Exponents & Scientific Notation. There will be a quiz Monday on these two sections. Homework: complete the review (EVENS ONLY; MAKE SURE IT’S DONE ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER). Attached below are today’s notes, bellwork, and homework.

4th Hour –

Algebra 1 students began studying the concept of scientific notation (Section 8-2). Scientific notation is a shorthand way of writing really large or really small numbers. Homework due tomorrow: pg. 402 #1-22 all. There will be a quiz on Sections 8-1 & 8-2 on Monday. Attached below is today’s notes, bellwork, and HW#1 answers.

4th Hour –

Algebra 1 students continued reviewing the properties of zero and negative exponents. Section 8-1 HW will be due tomorrow.

Algebra 1 students started Chapter 8 Section 1 – Zero and Negative Exponents. Homework due Thursday: pg. 397 #2-12 evens, 29-32, 41-44. Attached are the Bellwork and Notes from today.

Algebra 1 students began with an introduction to exponents which will lead into Chapter 8. Students also got the classroom syllabus, which can be found in the tab: “Classroom Syllabus” or posted below along with the Bellwork.
