Diabetes\u00a0is a disease that causes your pancreas to stop producing\u00a0insulin<\/strong>, a hormone that helps provide energy for your body. The cause for type 1\u00a0diabetes\u00a0is still unknown and there is\u00a0no cure.\u00a0<\/strong>This disease can lead to complications like blindness, kidney disease and heart disease.\u00a0 People with type 1\u00a0diabetes\u00a0must test their blood sugar several times a day and take multiple shots of insulin just to stay alive.<\/p>\n Oakman School has partnered\u00a0up with\u00a0JDRF Kids For A Cure\u00a0<\/strong>to begin a fundraiser at our school.\u00a0 Our goal is to raise $500 dollars as a school.
