<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CURRICULUM: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This class follows the Common Core for\nAlgebra 1 by addressing Solving Equations\/Inequalities, Function Essentials,\nLinear Function Applications and Essentials, Systems of Linear Equations,\nExponent Properties, Exponential Functions, Adding\/subtracting\/multiplying Polynomials,\nFactoring Quadratics, Understanding and Solving Quadratics, Literal Equations,\nFamily of Functions, and Unit Analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To\nbetter understand the concepts mentioned above, students will work at mastering\nlearning standards aimed at the following mathematical practices:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make sense of problems and\n     persevere in solving them<\/li><li>Reason abstractly and quantitatively<\/li><li>Construct viable arguments and\n     critique the reasoning of others<\/li><li>Model with mathematics<\/li><li>Use appropriate tools\n     strategically<\/li><li>Attend to precision<\/li><li>Look for and make use of\n     structure<\/li><li>Look for and express regularity\n     in repeated reasoning<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SUPPLY LIST:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Composition Notebook <\/li><li>Planner \u2013 (<em>Provided)<\/em><\/li><li>Pencils\/Highlighters<\/li><li>Dry erase marker<\/li><li>Homework Folder or Binder<\/li><li>Ti-Nspire Calculator \u2013 <em>(Provided in class, Recommended for home. iPad app available.)<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Formative Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Homework\nis rarely given but may be assigned on any given day.&nbsp; <\/li><li>Students\nare expected to complete work while in the classroom.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Retake Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>All corrections made on homework\/quizzes.<\/li><li>No missing assignments.<\/li><li>Attendance at T-Time specifically for\nthe topic.<\/li><li>All work turned in 3 days before the\nunit test.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grades:<\/strong><strong>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on mastery of learning target. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each objective on an\nassignment or test the student will receive one of the following scores:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<table class=\"wp-block-table\"><tbody><tr><td>\n  <strong>4<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>Advanced: &nbsp;<\/strong><strong><\/strong>\n  You\n  clearly understand the material given and could teach or assist someone else.\n  &nbsp;Very minor mistakes made, none are conceptual, only arithmetic.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>3<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  <strong>Proficient:<\/strong><strong><\/strong>\n  You\n  understand the material but are making some minor conceptual mistakes.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>2<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  Partially Proficient:\n  You\n  have the basic grasp of the concept being studied, but there are some major\n  conceptual misunderstandings.\n  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td>\n  <strong>1<\/strong>\n  <\/td><td>\n  Not Proficient:\n  You\n  have little understanding of the concept being taught and need to seek\n  additional help.\n  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Extra Help:<\/strong><strong>&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nclassroom is a RED ZONE.&nbsp; Cell phones are\nnot to be used in the classroom.&nbsp; This\nincludes, but is not limited to, the emergency text to\/from your parents (they\nneed to call the school, you need to use the classroom phone), the calculator\non your phone (you will be assigned a calculator in the classroom), or the\nmusic you have stored on it (I want you talking about the math with your group,\nnot listening to music).&nbsp;
