Hopefully, you rested and had some fun throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re back for a full week and so hard to believe it&#8217;s the last week of February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re beginning a new reading\/writing unit called Tales to Live By. The focus question is What can different cultures teach us? The reading strategy is summarizing and synthesizing a story. The spelling words are: too, soon, fruit, new, grew, blue, true, truth, July, shoe. Our writing for the next 3 weeks will focus on narrative fiction and students will write a story of their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ll also be starting a new math unit that will focus on strategies for adding and subtracting within 1,000. It will build on the previous strategies learned for adding and subtracting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week for social studies we continue learning about the 3 branches of government and the people who run our city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science continues our learning about how Earth&#8217;s quick changes of the surface: earthquakes, landslides, volcanoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lots of learning happening \ud83d\ude42  Enjoy your week!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome Back \ud83d\ude42 I hope everyone had an enjoyable week off.
