Today we will have our last NWEA test–math. Students seemed to take the reading test seriously last Friday so I expect the same with this one.<\/p>\n
No school this Friday or next Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, I will be out this week, Tuesday-Thursday. My mother-in-law died rather unexpectedly last week so I’ll be out for the funeral this week.<\/p>\n
Spelling words: bigger, biggest, liked, liking. Dolch words: six, funny, small, down, our<\/p>\n
Our reading strategy this week focuses on plant parts and their functions.<\/p>\n
We’re writing our own narrative stories and I’m encouraging the students to write an imaginative version of a story.<\/p>\n
Math will focus on measuring using inches, coin combinations and creating a bar graph.<\/p>\n
Social Studies begins a new unit that emphasizes how communities solve problems.<\/p>\n
All library books are due Thursday. If you have any at home, please send them in. <\/strong><\/p>\n Next week, we’ll be doing a district encouraged STEAM activity in class. Students will need boxes (cereal, kleenex, these smaller type sized boxes), paper towel tubes, yarn\/string. If you have any of this at home, can you please send it in.
