I’m back in class so here is the information for this week.<\/p>\n
If I sent home a conference note, I’ll see you today after school at the scheduled time. All others, report cards will be sent home tomorrow.<\/p>\n
The money ($4) for the PTA Spring Egg Hunt can be sent in any day this week.<\/p>\n
Don’t forget to send in the purple reading log for the week of Spring Break if your child completed it.<\/p>\n
Spring Picture Day is Friday. For this the money needs to be included in the ordering envelope.<\/p>\n
Spelling words this week: near, gear, deer, peer, where. Dolch words: were, was, buy, think, their<\/p>\n
Our reading strategy this week is focused on facts in informational text. We’ll be reading multi paragraph texts and answering questions from the text. Some have illustrations to use and others don’t.<\/p>\n
We’re circling back to informational writing also. We’ll be reading about various animals and writing facts we’ve learned. We’ll probably be researching 1 animal per student and gathering interesting facts.<\/p>\n
Math begins a new unit. We’ll be getting into easy fractions and equal groups of objects.<\/p>\n
Social Studies is learning about the past so our field trip to the historical museum was a perfect introduction.<\/p>\n
Science begins a new unit on life science and living and non living things.<\/p>\n
