On Friday we in the morning and into the after noon we are going to have a going to be doing S.T.E.M. Halloween activities in the areas of math and science. The students will be doing many different hands on activities and to help make the event as fun as we can, we are in need of some items. Please comment on the post if you will be able to provide any of the supplies listed below.<\/p>\n<p>List of needed items.<\/p>\n<p>1. Pumpkin Towers- 2 boxes of toothpicks.<br \/>\n6 bags of candy pumpkins.<\/p>\n<p>2. Frankenworms- 3 bags of gummy worms.<br \/>\n\u2013 1 gallon of vinegar.<br \/>\n\u2013 19 clear plastic cups<br \/>\n\u2013 baking soda<\/p>\n<p>3. Halloween Slime- 19 bottles of glue.<br \/>\n\u2013 1 package of food coloring.<\/p>\n<p>4. Pumpkin decorating supplies<\/p>\n<p>5. Munch time- 1 bag candy corn<br \/>\n1 bag small pretzel twists<br \/>\n2 bags of M&amp;M\u2019s<br \/>\n2 bags of Chex-Mix.<\/p>\n<p>As for the rest of the week and our topics we are covering the following:<\/p>\n<p>Math-We are finishing up Unit 2 and we will be wrapping it up with decimal multiplication, decimal place value on number lines and decimal story problems. Review and Unit test will be coming up as well.<\/p>\n<p>Science-Forces and motion continue as students learn to combine and subtract forces as they head in different directions.<\/p>\n<p>Writer&#8217;s Workshop-Students are finishing up their opinion pieces and their historical narratives. They are working very hard on writing about one of the homes from Greenfield Village. We will also be having a writing prompt practice and our daily journal writing will continue.<\/p>\n<p>Spelling- This week we are focusing on diagraphs.\u00a0<span class=\"c6 c4\">A digraph is a single sound, or<\/span><span class=\"c4 c6\"><a class=\"c10\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.phonicsontheweb.com\/glossary.php&amp;sa=D&amp;usg=AFQjCNHM3CfIv6eYMUZ2loXPlbyApFWoCw\">\u00a0<\/a><\/span><span class=\"c3\"><a class=\"c10\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.phonicsontheweb.com\/glossary.php&amp;sa=D&amp;usg=AFQjCNHM3CfIv6eYMUZ2loXPlbyApFWoCw\">phoneme<\/a><\/span><span class=\"c6 c4\">, which is represented by two letters. In digraphs, consonants join together to form a kind of consonant team, which makes a special sound. For instance, <\/span><span class=\"c6 c11 c4\">p<\/span><span class=\"c6 c4\">\u00a0and<\/span><span class=\"c6 c11 c4\">h<\/span><span class=\"c6 c4\">\u00a0combine to form <\/span><span class=\"c6 c4 c11\">ph<\/span><span class=\"c6 c4\">, which makes the \/f\/ sound as in <\/span><span class=\"c6 c11 c4\">phonemic<\/span><span class=\"c6 c4\">.
