Martian Kids Marathon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lindbergh School is participating in the Martian Kids Marathon at Dearborn\u2019s Ford Field on Saturday, April 13th – at 12:00pm (Blue Wave).<\/p>\n

This is a 1.2 mile Fun<\/u> run, so every child is welcome to join for a discounted fee of $20 until March 10th<\/sup>. The race entry will get you a race tee-shirt, a Marathon finisher\u2019s medal and post-race food. The entire registration process is online; you will not need to send anything to school.<\/p>\n

Here is how to register<\/em><\/strong>. Go to: \u00a0https:\/\/runningfitevents.redpodium.com\/2019-martian-invasion-of-races <\/a>and select:\u00a0 \u201cI am here to register as a group leader or group participant\u201d. Then select team name \u201cLindbergh Elementary<\/strong>\u201d.\u00a0 Password: flyers2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Prior to the Race: Take the Challenge:<\/strong> \u00a0A Marathon is 26.2 miles, so the kids will run 25 miles before the race and finish the last 1.2 on race day.\u00a0 Each child is encouraged to log 25 miles from now until race day and they can do this by participating in any activities such as playing basketball, running, soccer, jumping rope, soccer, dance, karate etc. For every 30 minutes of the activity you can receive \u00a01 mile on your log book (on the back of this flyer).\u00a0 So if you play soccer for 1 hour you can log 2 miles on your running log.\u00a0 Although the log book is optional, I highly encourage it to teach healthy habits!<\/p>\n

Before Race Day: <\/strong>I pass out the t-shirts on Friday, April 12th<\/sup> at school for those registered.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

On Race Day<\/strong>: Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start time with their log books (if completed). I will be at the race as well, but you will be required to stay with your child before, during and after the race.<\/u>\u00a0Cheer on your child as they cross the finish line and complete the Marathon!<\/p>\n

If any adults in the Lindbergh Community would like to run the 5k to 26.2 marathon you can also sign up and use the <\/em>20% off discount code \u201cSCHOOLGROUP19<\/strong>\u201d (good until March 10th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n
