Our second grade students will be working on:<\/p>\n
Reading:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Students will learn to\u00a0describe how reasons support specific points the author makes in a text.<\/p>\n Writing:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Students will write\u00a0narratives in which they recount a well\u2010elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure<\/p>\n Math:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Students will learn\u00a0to add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. \u00a0The will use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve word problems involving lengths that are given in the same units. e.g., by using drawings (such as drawings of rulers) and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem numbers.<\/p>\n Science:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Students will\u00a0plan and conduct an investigation to describe and classify different kinds of liquids by their observable properties.<\/p>\n Social Studies:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Students will be learning to understand what scarcity is and what natural resources are and how they are used.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Our second grade students will be working on: Reading:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Students will learn to\u00a0describe how reasons support specific points the author makes in a text.
