Our second grade students will be working and practicing these skills this week:<\/p>\n
Reading:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Students\u00a0will learn to recount stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures, and determine their central message, lesson, or moral.<\/p>\n Writing<\/strong>: Students will learn to write narratives in which they recount a well\u2010elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.<\/p>\n Math:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Students will learn to understand that the three digit number represent amounts of hundreds, tens, and ones; e.g. 706 equals 7 hundreds, 0 tens, and 6 ones.<\/p>\n Science:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0After identifying three states of matter (solid, liquid, gas), students observe a variety of solid objects.
