Our students will be learning about many things this week including:<\/p>\n

Reading:<\/strong>\u00a0 Students will determine the meaning of words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 2 topic or subject. \u00a0They will know and use various text features (e.g., captions, bold print, subheadings, glossaries, indexes, electronic menus, icons) to locate key facts or information in a text efficiently.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Math:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Students will\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an odd or even number of members, e.g., by pairing objects or counting them by 2s; write an equation to express an even number as a sum of two equal addends.<\/p>\n

Writing:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Students will write informative\/explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement or section. \u00a0They will also, with guidance and support from adults and peers, focus on a topic and strengthen writing as needed by revising and editing<\/span><\/p>\n

Social Studies:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Students will continue to learn about maps, map keys, legends, directional symbols and the campus rose.<\/p>\n

Science:<\/strong>\u00a0 Students will continue to investigate whether there is an earth material smaller than silt. \u00a0They will participate in several experiments.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
