Welcome all new Music Connections students!\u00a0 The 3rd marking period is under way and there are a few things that you will need very soon.\u00a0 The first project in the class is a Chant Writing project which consists of learning chant writing and Language Arts skills.\u00a0 You will create and perform your own chants with choreography and teach them to the full class.\u00a0 This entails cooperative group work.\u00a0 The second project is done in the piano lab.\u00a0 You will learn to read and write musical notes, notate a song by ear and learn to play what you write while reading the notes.\u00a0 You will even learn to use precise piano fingerings!\u00a0 For the duration of this project each student will work independently.\u00a0 Extra worksheets\u00a0with higher level piano skills are available for those students who complete the required work.\u00a0 For this project you must have the following:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 Headphones or ear buds<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 1\/4 inch plug (fat tip) on the end of the headphones<\/p>\n
If you have earbuds (ipod type) already you will need to purchase a 1\/4 inch adaptor to attach so it will work with the piano.\u00a0 If you do not have headphones they can be purchased from local stores.\u00a0 Suggestions:\u00a0 Heaphone\/adaptor sets can be purchased at target for $9.99.\u00a0 Adaptors can be found at Radio Shack for $3-5.\u00a0 Avoid Dollar store adaptors.\u00a0 You can also try Best Buy.\u00a0\u00a0 Students have already been informed of what is needed.\u00a0 We will begin using them\u00a0every day starting\u00a0January 5\/6 and will continue until the end of the marking period which ends on January 29.\u00a0 It is extremely important that each student have their own.\u00a0 Good luck to all of our aspiring pianists!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
