Field Trip to see Musician Simon Shaheen!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/3puuzj4cgp0w1zze71361rza.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/performance\/zafir-simonshaheen-ft.jpg\" alt=\"simon shaheen\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Great News! \u00a0The Miller Elementary <strong>W.B.P.E<\/strong>. after-school drummers have the incredible opportunity to attend a\u00a0Concert to see musician <strong>Simon Shaheen and ZAFIR\u00a0<\/strong>on <strong><u>April 15, 2016<\/u><\/strong> at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI. \u00a0Here is a description of the concert and a sample of his music from the UMS website:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ums.org\/performance\/k12-zafir-simon-shaheen\/\">https:\/\/ums.org\/performance\/k12-zafir-simon-shaheen\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Simon Shaheen brings to life the Arab music of Al-Andalus (Spain) and blends it with the ubiquitous art of flamenco in Zafir (wind), a program of instrumental and vocal music and dance that renews a relationship with music from a thousand years ago.
