All the students showed tremendous growth in the reading part of the test! Our math portion of the test will be on <strong>Tuesday, January 19th<\/strong>. You will receive your child&#8217;s individual NWEA report when report cards are passed out. I passed back your child&#8217;s unit 4 math test back on Friday. The students did really great on this test! Keep it up first graders! Below is what we will be working on this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Spelling:<\/span> <\/strong>We will begin our phonics unit on consonant blends. This week we will focus on the \/fl\/ and \/pl\/ blend. Here are this weeks spelling words:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">flap, flag, flip, plug, play, plate<\/span><\/p>\n<p>sight words: <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">said, here<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Below are some games for your child to practice with blends:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec2.educationcity.com\/content\/index\/8608\/4\/1\/1\/null\/null\/false\/false\/null\/0\" target=\"_blank\">Beginning consonant blends<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ec2.educationcity.com\/content\/index\/8611\/4\/1\/1\/null\/null\/false\/false\/null\/0\" target=\"_blank\">Ending consonant blends<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Science:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week we will be learning about various tools to measure weather.
