Attached you will find your\nchild\u2019s spelling words for next week. Each week we will learn a new pattern of\nwords. These words are called the Hot\nwords. Your child will be tested on\nthese words on Friday. On Friday, I will\ngive 5 additional words that fit the pattern. These are called the Cold\nwords. If your child understands the\npattern, he\/she should be able to spell the Cold Words. The next set of words are from the Dolch list. Dolch words are a list of words all children\nmust learn to read and write before leaving 2nd<\/sup> grade. Some students will be getting Academic\nVocabulary if the Dolch word list is complete, but first we will review words\nfrom last year. Your son\/daughter will\nbe completing activities in class to help prepare him\/her for the test.
