Dear parents,<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would like to welcome you to our second grade class, my name is Mrs. Hachem. <\/strong>\u00a0I am pleased to be working with you and your child this school year. The education of your child is very important to me. I have high expectations for all my students both academically and socially. I hope we will have an enjoyable and successful year together. I would like to explain few things about our classroom rules and procedures.<\/p>\n

Classroom Rules:<\/strong><\/p>\n

These rules will be in effect at all times:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Follow all directions the first time.<\/li>\n
  2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on.<\/li>\n
  3. Keep hands, feet, and all objects to yourself.<\/li>\n
  4. Listen when others are speaking.<\/li>\n
  5. Respect school property and other.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Behavior Management Clip Chart<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    We have a set up color coded clip chart. The classroom\u2019s behavior chart is a positive reward system to reinforce good behavior.\u00a0 Your child will monitor his own behavior by receiving\u00a0 a happy\/sad face on that day that I am going to stamp in his\/her planner. Please make sure you are reviewing your child planner everyday and sign it.<\/p>\n

    Red: <\/strong>Outstanding\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Orange:<\/strong> Great Job\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yellow: <\/strong>Good Day\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Green<\/strong>: Ready to Learn<\/p>\n

    Purple: <\/strong>Think About It\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pink: <\/strong>Teacher\u2019s Choice\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Light Green:<\/strong>\u00a0 Parent\u2019s Contact<\/p>\n

    Reward<\/strong>: Students who choose to follow the rules all week will earn a chance to choose a small prize from the treasure box or receive a reward coupon.<\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Academic and Personal Goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Each student will have academic and personal goals to expand his\/her learning and social skills.\u00a0 Everyday your child will take home the reading bag that includes books and a notebook. In the notebook your child will write academic, reading goal and personal goals. Please talk to your child about his\/her goals and discuss how he\/she will work to achieve these goals.<\/p>\n

    H<\/strong>omework policy:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday<\/strong>. Your child will have a homework folder to store notes, letters, or homework. Your child will have a planner<\/strong> for daily homework and spelling list. Please look at your child planner everyday and sign it.<\/li>\n
    2. Students will have a SPELLING TEST<\/strong> every week. Please help your child study for his\/her spelling test which will occur every Friday.<\/li>\n
    3. Your child will bring home a BOOK BAG<\/strong> each night. Please make sure your child reads each book at least 3 times each night. Please make this is very positive and enjoyable experience. Also, your child will have reading log assignments.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
