Welcome to Fall in Room 204!\u00a0 We continue to stay busy and focused on being lifelong learners.\u00a0 In Math, we just completed the unit on Geometry.\u00a0 We are now studying estimation and computation.\u00a0 As always, we are also working on memorizing our basic addition, subtraction and multiplication facts.\u00a0 Please encourage your child to practice these at home.\u00a0 The Math page of my blog has lots of fun websites for math fact practice.<\/p>\n
In Science we are continuing our Life Science unit.\u00a0 We wrapped up body systems and their functions by doing PowerPoint presentations.\u00a0 We are currently in the process of presenting them to our classmates.\u00a0 Look for some to be posted on my blog on the Science page.\u00a0 We are now focusing on traits and characteristics, both physical and behavioral.<\/p>\n
In Language Arts, we are working on a writing piece about our classroom pet praying mantis, Bob.\u00a0 Students were invited to write a story about Bob, choosing their own genre.\u00a0 They are now working on using a rubric to make their writing more interesting and complete.\u00a0 We are wrapping up our reading assessments and will begin meeting in groups regularly.<\/p>\n
