(Culver St. side of school) At the bell, I will meet the children outside and walk them into the classroom. \u00a0To help students gain <\/span><b>independence<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, I ask that they say goodbye to you <\/span><b><i>outside<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and they enter the building with classmates. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><b>***<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please let me know if your child will be riding the bus to and from school.<\/span><b>***<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tardy Students<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0Please try your best to ensure that your child is on time. \u00a0The entry bell rings at 8:35 a.m. and the tardy bell at 8:40 a.m. \u00a0Any child coming to school after 8:40 a.m. MUST be taken to the office by an adult and signed in.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dismissal<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0Our class will dismiss through the same door, (door 2), that they enter in each morning. \u00a0The students and I will be waiting outside of door 2 until they spot you. They should be picked up promptly at 3:35 p.m. \u00a0Children who are not picked up shortly after the bell will be sent to the office for their safety. Also, for the safety of your child, please keep me informed throughout the year of any changes in your child\u2019s routine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Classroom Blog<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0To stay as up to date as possible, I will be maintaining a class blog page: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/grizzell\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/grizzell\/<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be a GREAT source of information about the classroom happenings! \u00a0Please let me know if you would NOT like your child\u2019s photo to be posted on our classroom blog.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Classroom Management \/ Discipline Policy:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0I will provide a positive learning environment and I expect your child to come ready to listen, respect others and try his\/her very best. \u00a0Snow Elementary will continue implementing a school-wide behavior system, PBIS &#8211; Positive Behavior Intervention Support. During the first few weeks of school, your child will review the rewards and consequences of this behavior system. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Individual Reward<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0Every day your child has the opportunity to earn blue tickets (Pack Pride Points) for following the behavior expectations, demonstrating an exceptional act of kindness, or positive effort on a task. \u00a0At the end of each week, I will randomly pull blue tickets from a box. If your child\u2019s ticket was pulled, then he\/she may earn a toy or sweet treat from our prize box. Also, your child\u2019s name may be called on the school\u2019s morning announcements as a special recognition. \u00a0I will happily accept toy or candy donations throughout the school year. I appreciate your support!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whole Group Reward:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Students will be encouraged to work well together. \u00a0Whole group rewards include: popcorn, sweet treats, or free time on the computer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Homework Folders<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0Your child will receive a Homework Folder on the first week of school. \u00a0All notes and homework will be placed in this folder. Homework Folders will travel to and from school each day. \u00a0Please check your child\u2019s folder every evening. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Book Bags<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0Your child will receive a Book Bag within the first 2 weeks of school. \u00a0More information will come home soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lunch<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0Our lunch time is 12:00-12:38 p.m. \u00a0Students will enjoy recess first and then eat lunch in the cafeteria. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Special Schedule<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; \u00a0\u00a0As of now, our special schedule is:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Monday: \u00a0Art \u00a0Tuesday: Enrichment<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wednesday: \u00a0Gym &amp; Media<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thursday: \u00a0Music<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Friday: \u00a0Music<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Field Trips<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0We are planning to go on three field trips this year. \u00a0If you would like to join us for field trips, please make sure you have completed the background check in the office. \u00a0I would recommend filling out the form asap. The form takes 10 school days to process through the Dearborn Police Department. \u00a0It good for three years, so if you completed it within the last 2 years, then you are all set!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Birthdays<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: \u00a0If they choose, students may celebrate their birthdays by bringing a treat to share with the class. \u00a0Please refrain from sending treats with any type of nut because of nut allergies. As of now, we have 19 students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many exciting things are planned to ensure quality learning experiences. \u00a0To get off to a good start, we would like your help.
