We will be using IXL, Read Theory, NewsELA, and your good fit book to\nhelp support your learning. Each assignment is explained below:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read Theory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\nare expected to complete 10 Read Theory Quizzes per week.&nbsp; We will continue to expect you to complete 10\nRead Theories per week (Starting on Monday and ending on Sunday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NewsELA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\nare expected to complete 3 NewsELA articles while you are out of school. All\nthree of them have been added to our classroom page on NewsELA. You are\nexpected to complete one article each week. The directions for the assignment\nhave been posted with the articles. They are the directions we have been\nfollowing all year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Article in NEWSela:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Week One:<\/strong> <em>How this Busy Animal Rescue Gets by with Four Full-Time Employees<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Week <strong>Two<\/strong>: <em>Opinion: With or Without Trophies, Youth Sports Need to be Fun<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Week Three<\/strong>: <em>In a \u201cBizzare\u201d Biological Twist, a Mother Lion Adopts a Leopard Cub in India<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IXL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\nare expected to complete four IXL lessons each week. The following lessons are\nrequired. We recommend you complete them in order to help you be successful:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For help with IXL, there will be links to videos posted to Google\nClassroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>K. 1-4 Writing Strategies-Week 1 (See googleclassroom for videos).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A.1-Main Idea   (Week 1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D. 1-4 Text Structure Week 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KK. 1-2 Capitalization (Week 2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LL. 4 Formatting  (Week 3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Good Fit Books<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continue to read your good fit book for 20 minutes\/5\ndays per week Continue to have your parent sign your planner on Sunday nights.\nPlease utilize the public library. Many libraries have online services to\nborrow e-books. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One Pager:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your one pager Comic Strip\/theme\ncontructed response and pyramid of action are still due on April 14th. The pink\nsheet is the rubric for this assessment. If you have lost this sheet, please\nsee googleclassroom for a copy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For those of you that want to draw the comic, the templates have been posted on googleclassom. We also posted the \u201cfaces\u201d in case you would like to use them!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>VOCABULARY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-pale-pink-background-color\"><strong>Unit 9 Vocabulary Test<\/strong> will be posted on googleclassroom on Wednesday. WE ARE EXPECTING YOU TO BE HONEST IN COMPLETING THIS TEST WITHOUT YOU BOOK MATERIALS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background has-pale-pink-background-color\"><strong><em>UNIT 10: <\/em><\/strong>Create note cards for Unit 10. Follow the format in the back of the book to create the cards. COMPLETE THE entire UNIT IN THE BOOK FOR UNIT 10 BEFORE YOU RETURN TO SCHOOL. WE WILL CHECK WHEN WE RETURN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We\nare going to be monitoring your progress as the weeks progress.
