The assessment had the students take a &#8220;Close and Critical&#8221; look at a piece of informational text. They were to apply the R.A.T.E. method to this text then develop a constructed response on &#8220;What the text says?&#8217;, &#8220;How the text says it?&#8221; , &#8220;What it means?&#8221;, and &#8220;What does it mean to me?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For each question they were given a graphic organizer that separated each prompt into boxes where they could organize their thoughts before beginning their constructed response.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow they will apply the same concepts and strategies to a narrative text.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Homework:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Read for 20 minutes.
