Friday, March 11th <\/b>is Dress like a vocabulary word day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Use your weekly academic vocabulary words (Great for a spiral review!)<\/span><\/p>\n Use word types such as have pairs of students dress as different homophones or compound words.<\/span><\/p>\n Use your spelling words<\/span><\/p>\n Use word families<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Once you have figured out what word you will use you can have students design their outfit in class or at home:<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Small:<\/span><\/p>\n Choose a word and draw an appropriate description\/illustration of the word on a poster or a sign. Be sure to neatly print the vocabulary word in big letters.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Medium:<\/span><\/p>\n Choose a word and make cardboard, paperbag, or material \u201cpuppet\u201d for the chosen word to carry in the parade. Or make a hat using various materials illustrating the word. Be sure to neatly print the vocabulary word in big letters on the puppet\/hat, or on the paper to carry or pin to your shirt.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Large:<\/span><\/p>\n Choose a vocabulary word and dress in\/make a full costume illustrating the word.
