This year will be challenging, interesting, frustrating, and knowledge expanding. To be successful, you are required to bring the following things to class everyday:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>At least two writing utensils (pens, pencils, markers, quills&#8230;) for taking notes and doing written work. These can be any color for class, but must be blue or black for summative assessments.<\/li><li>One red pen for peer feedback (you will have a lot of opportunities to help your fellow students and get the same help back).<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting on Tuesday, September 2nd, you will also need these two things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A 100 sheet (200 page) composition notebook. This must be a bound composition notebook; no spiral notebooks or perforated pages are allowed. <\/li><li>A folder for organizing handouts and other papers.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, since the easiest and most professional way to communicate with Mr. Goff is through email, you have a homework assignment to practice writing a good email. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If you can, watch the movie The Princess Bride. Or at least<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6JGp7Meg42U\"> watch this cli<\/a>p that includes a classic line from the movie.<\/li><li>Read this description of how to write an email:  <a href=\"https:\/\/customer.io\/blog\/princess-bride-welcome-emails\/\">https:\/\/customer.io\/blog\/princess-bride-welcome-emails\/<\/a> <\/li><li>Write me an email <strong>from your school email account <\/strong>that includes all three parts.<ul><li>For the greeting, please consider who you are emailing (me, your teacher)<\/li><li>For the &#8220;Who you are&#8221; please include which hour I teach you<\/li><li>For the &#8220;What&#8217;s next&#8221; ask me a question, tell me something that you think is important for me to know about you, or recommend a good place to eat in Dearborn.<\/li><li>***DO NOT USE THE LINE FROM THE MOVIE IN YOUR EMAIL!
