This is the last week of the second quarter of school.\u00a0 In other words, we are half way through the school year!\u00a0 Our class will be starting NWEA testing tomorrow afternoon.\u00a0 We will also be testing Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon for an hour at a time.\u00a0 Please encourage your child to take his\/her time and do their best.\u00a0 Make sure that they get plenty of sleep and a good breakfast.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, our class will have a special science demonstration in the classroom.\u00a0 I’m really looking forward to this experience!<\/p>\n

This week and next, Oakman School will be collecting for the Burn Drive.\u00a0 This is a fund that help replace furniture and other things lost to families who have been effected by fire.\u00a0 Our Dearborn firefighters do an outstanding job help in our community.\u00a0 Can we help them?\u00a0 Any donation is appreciated.<\/p>\n

Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spelling<\/strong>– Write your words 3 times each in your spiral. Sign and correct your test.<\/p>\n

Read at least 20 minutes and write in your log.<\/p>\n

This Week\u2019s Objectives<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will work at analyzing text and looking at domain specific vocabulary.<\/p>\n

Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 The students will complete work on their narrative writing piece.<\/p>\n

Science<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will continue studying the water on Earth, reviewing the water cycle and identifying where it is found and how to protect it from contaminants.\u00a0 We will be testing on this Thursday.<\/p>\n

Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 The students will be sharing their explorer reports with the class and then studying the Columbian Exchange.<\/p>\n

Math<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will continue multiplying multi-digit whole numbers and multiples of 10 using place value patterns and the distributive and associative properties.<\/p>\n
