Happy New Year!!!\u00a0 I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing break!\u00a0 Many thanks to the students that completed the assignments over break.\u00a0 I appreciate the parents that made sure that your child was reading everyday and keeping up with their studies.\u00a0 That is how your child will be successful in school!<\/p>\n

Now it is back to work and we have a lot to do to prepare for the NWEA tests this month.\u00a0 If your child did not complete the vacation assignments, they will need to be done by this Friday.<\/p>\n

We had many “sleepy heads” today in class!\u00a0 Please be sure that your child is well rested tonight.<\/p>\n

Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spelling<\/strong>– Write your words 3 times each in your spiral.<\/p>\n

Read at least 20 minutes and write in your log.<\/p>\n

This Week\u2019s Objectives<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will work at writing a letter with a purpose along with a partner, relationships of events in using chronological order and inferencing in text.<\/p>\n

Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 The students will complete work on their narrative writing piece.<\/p>\n

Science<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will continue studying the water on Earth, where it is found and how to protect it from contaminants.<\/p>\n

Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 The students will be sharing their explorer reports with the class and then studying the Columbian Exchange.<\/p>\n

Math<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will continue multiplying multi-digit whole numbers and multiples of 10 using place value patterns and the distributive and associative properties.<\/p>\n
