Not only is this the last week of school in 2018, but it is also Spirit Week!\u00a0 Please join in the fun!<\/p>\n

Tomorrow is the 5th Graders VS the Oakman Staff Volleyball Game.\u00a0 Unfortunately, I will not be able to play but I will be cheering on the staff members as we try to keep our unbeaten streak alive!\u00a0 Be sure that your child is dressed to play.<\/p>\n

Spirit Week<\/b><\/p>\n

(December 17-21)<\/b><\/p>\n

In order for students to participate we are asking students to pay $1 a day. The proceeds will go towards charity for the children of Yemen.<\/b><\/p>\n

Monday: Dress to Impress\u00a0<\/b>(Favorite dress, suits, tie, nice hair)<\/b><\/p>\n

Tuesday: Sports Day\/Oakman Gear\u00a0<\/b>(Favorite jersey, Oakman shirt)<\/b><\/p>\n

Wednesday: Crazy Scientist Day\u00a0<\/b>(Crazy hair, wear older brother\/dads button up shirt, white coat, safety glasses )<\/b><\/p>\n

Thursday: Pajama Day<\/b><\/p>\n

Friday:<\/b>\u00a0Wear<\/b>\u00a0Holiday<\/b>\u00a0Colors<\/b>\u00a0(green &<\/b>\u00a0red,<\/b>\u00a0santa<\/b>\u00a0hat)<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spelling<\/strong>– Write your words 3 times each in your spiral. Sign and correct your test.<\/p>\n

Read at least 20 minutes and write in your log.<\/p>\n

This Week\u2019s Objectives<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will work at writing a letter with a purpose along with a partner, relationships of events in using chronological order and inferencing in text.<\/p>\n

Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 The students will continue working on their narrative writing piece.<\/p>\n

Science<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will continue studying the water on Earth, where it is found and how to protect it from contaminants.<\/p>\n

Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 The students will be researching explorers of the new world and then studying the Columbian Exchange.<\/p>\n

Math<\/strong><\/p>\n

-The students will begin multiplying multi-digit whole numbers and multiples of 10 using place value patterns and the distributive and associative properties.<\/p>\n
