Finally, our NWEA testing is finished!! Now all we need to complete is the DRAs. (though many of the students are already finished). This testing will help me to see where your child\u2019s strengths and weaknesses are and then be able to best instruct them. It is a long process!<\/p>\n
Your child’s social studies test is coming home to be signed.\u00a0 Many students in the class did not do well on it.\u00a0 They have to learn that in 5th grade they need to study and listen in class. Next year it will be much more challenging in middle school.<\/p>\n
Homework<\/strong><\/p>\n Spelling<\/strong>– Write your words 3 times each in your spiral.<\/p>\n Read 20 minutes and write in your log.<\/p>\n This Week\u2019s Objectives<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Literacy<\/strong><\/p>\n -The students will continue identifying reading strategies and finding the main ideas and key details in text.<\/p>\n Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2013 The students will continue work on their opinion pieces and identifying credible sources and applying them to their paper.<\/p>\n Science<\/strong><\/p>\n -The students will be continuing their study on the stages of matter and then classifying objects based on identified properties.<\/p>\n Social Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2013 The students will be thinking like a historian and identifying the difference between primary and secondary sources.<\/p>\n Math<\/strong><\/p>\n -The students will continue working on place value, exponents and metric system.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Spelling Words <\/strong><\/p>\n Finally, our NWEA testing is finished!!
