If you and your family are leaving town early, just be sure to check this blog for assignments and journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8th Grade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>JOURNAL: Story Ending &#8211; &#8211; The LAST line of the story is \u201c\u2026 the man in black fled across the desert, and the ice cream man followed him.\u201d\u00a0 Write the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\u00a0 Introduce new unit and new essential question &#8211; How does an author create and build suspense in fictional stories?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\u00a0 New essential learnings &#8211;  During this unit we will be focused on plot development, character words and actions, as well as writing techniques that all help a writer to build suspense in a story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HOMEWORK:\u00a0 Book (2) check in MONDAY.\u00a0 Have books and \/ or notes in class <strong>MONDAY.<\/strong>  You can bring your books as well as your notes to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6th Grade<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Journal: Your Choice &#8211; &#8211;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.Read the story \u201cAll Summer in a Day\u201d p. 68 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.Create a character cut-out for Margot \u2013 this is an INDIVIDUAL task. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A.Draw a picture of Margot based on the description given of her in the story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>B.Be sure the be detailed in your answers and use complete sentences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HOMEWORK:\u00a0 Make sure that you are reading your book for your project that is due December 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Just a reminder that next week is only a two day week (Monday and Tuesday).
