Ladies of the Islamic Center of America <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarship Program <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ladies of the Islamic Center of America\u2019s Luncheon Committee are excited to announce its 10th annual scholarship program. This scholarship application is open to female Muslim women seniors (12th grade) currently attending Dearborn High, Edsel Ford, Fordson and Crestwood High Schools and have definite plans to attend college. Students will have the opportunity to compete for a $1000 scholarship towards college expenses. One recipient will be selected from each high school, and scholarships will be issued directly to winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. The scholarship is open to female Muslim\u00a0high school seniors\u00a0<\/strong>attending DearbornHigh, Fordson, Edsel Ford, or Crestwood High Schools. Applicants must have plans toattend college.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The scholarship will be issued in the form of a check to the recipient directly. The ICA willrequest prior verification that the student does have plans to attend college postgraduation. Winners must verify identity with the ICA before scholarship can be issued.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Scholarship winners are ineligible for the subsequent ICA general scholarship. All otherapplicants will be forwarded for consideration for the general scholarship fund of the ICA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Applicants should demonstrate exceptional merit, leadership, and uphold values ofyoung aspiring Muslim women (i.e. kindness, generosity, patience, etc).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Submission Requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Submit a copy of your high school transcripts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Optional:\u00a0<\/strong>a letter of recommendation from a teacher OR include a resume thathighlights extra curricular activities and initiatives centered on community service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Submit an essay between 500 – 750 words, answering the following question:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      In accordance with this year\u2019s theme, \u201cThe ICA Coast,\u201d <\/strong>inspired by the beauty of the Amalfi coast, consider how shorelines are formed and shaped over time\u2013through tides, storms, and even moments of calm. Think about a moment in your life when you had to steer yourself, whether through unfamiliar waters or against the current. In your essay, share what guided you, what you discovered, and how this experience has influenced the way you hope to support or lead others in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      LAHC<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      We are excited to share that the 2026 LAHC Scholarship Application<\/strong> is now open!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      This scholarship opportunity is available to eligible high school seniors<\/strong>. Selected students may receive $2,000 per scholarship<\/strong>, with the potential for higher award amounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
