Interdependent Relationships in Ecosystems-how do seeds disperse (scatter, spread)

2)Use a notebook to title/date the activity and give your guesses to questions in the video. 

In this Mystery, students will learn how seeds must get away from their parent plant in order to survive. In the activity, Fly Your Own Seed, students create a model seed from paper. Then, they release these seeds to model how they disperse and observe if any seeds are able to escape the parent plant’s “Zone of Darkness” and survive.

  • Know your telephone numbers and how to use the telephone
  • Know your street addresses
  • Name all the people in your families and extended families and know what each family member does and enjoys
  • Describe how they get to school and map the route; describe your favorite things, friends, and activities
  • Understand and appreciate the different kinds of families that exist (two parents, a single parent, stepparents, and the like)
