{"id":22,"date":"2015-09-15T08:02:13","date_gmt":"2015-09-15T12:02:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/defaulttemplate1\/?page_id=22"},"modified":"2019-09-25T10:10:28","modified_gmt":"2019-09-25T14:10:28","slug":"class-info","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/fadhlk\/class-info\/","title":{"rendered":"Class Info"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We currently have <strong>23<\/strong>\u00a0students in our class.\u00a0 There are <b>16<\/b>\u00a0boys and 7<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>girls.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Snack<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your child needs to bring his or her own snack to eat, if they would like, each day.\u00a0 The snack must be healthy!\u00a0 Your child could bring: crackers, animal crackers, crackers with cheese, cut up vegetables (carrots, celery, etc\u2026), or cut up fruits (apples, bananas, etc..).\u00a0 If they bring in an unhealthy snack they will not be allowed to eat it.<\/p>\n<p>If we happen to have a birthday in class and there is a special snack, then they will not eat the snack they brought to school.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>PBIS Reward System (Discipline Plan)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Every month the students have the opportunity to earn a 30 minute reward for the good choices that they have made during the month.\u00a0 If they do not make the appropriate choices then they do not get to participate in the 30 minute reward.\u00a0 Every class has a behavior chart.\u00a0 If a student makes a poor choice then they must flip their card.\u00a0 The number of flips that a student has at the end of the month determines whether or not they get to participate in the reward activity. \u00a0Every time students make poor choices they must flip their card-\u00a0 Yellow is the first flip, blue is the second flip, and red is the last flip.\u00a0 Each day the students begin on green.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>DOJO<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>This year I will be using a web-based program called Class Dojo to help track\u00a0\u00a0 students\u2019 behavior.\u00a0\u00a0 It is an excellent communication tool to help keep parents updated about their child\u2019s behavior.<\/p>\n<p>In Class Dojo, students can earn points for positive behaviors such as being on task, following directions, helping others, etc.\u00a0 Students can also lose points for negative behaviors such as being off task, not following directions, etc. Students love being able to track their points.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have joined our class you will be able to check your child\u2019s progress anytime.\u00a0 You will also be emailed a report every Friday.\u00a0 Students can create their own account so they can check on their own progress as well. (There\u2019s even an app!) \u00a0Parents love having instant access to how their child is doing.
