Here’s a few more\u00a0Star<\/span>\u00a0Strategies<\/span>\u00a0to get your kids motivated and back on track…<\/div>\n

Ms. Caballero uses\u00a0Scaffolding<\/b>\u00a0with her students during writing. She takes it a step further with some of her struggling students, by providing\u00a0sentence stems and frames<\/b>. She also uses\u00a0color to help with the organization<\/b>\u00a0of the essay! Photos are attached.<\/div>\n

Ms. Jaber uses\u00a0mini-books<\/b>\u00a0to help students prepare for a test. As an accommodation, she allows students to use the mini-book on the test…students worked so hard preparing the mini-book, they inadvertently studied for the test and many didn’t need the book! Mind games people! I attached a\u00a0template on how to construct a mini-book<\/b>. It’s fun and easy.<\/div>\n

Ms. Consiglio used a\u00a0Flow map with her students to highlight the steps of good study habits<\/b>. Metacognition is important and a great way to get students thinking about their learning and accountability. Photo attached.<\/div>\n

Lastly, Newcomer students made\u00a0Tree Maps to organize story elements during guided reading group.<\/b>\u00a0This is a great\u00a0strategy<\/span>\u00a0for 6th grade ELA and Reading intervention!<\/div>\n
