Today, try to arrange to do some physical activity with friends or family \u2013 connect remotely on Zoom or Facetime, or do it together from a safe distance. Try these fun, exercises that are easy to do together: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Do an exercise workout together \u2013 like this one called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/398612619\">Recess<\/a>\u201d from Double Time <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Practice some remote yoga \u2013 like this fun <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wVhHPtrrSGE&amp;feature=youtu.be\">Fairy Floss<\/a> from Cosmic Kids Yoga <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Try learning a dance \u2013 like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W59jPBFMOyI\">Best Time Ever<\/a> from Kidz Bop Kids <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Take a walk (while maintaining a safe social distance!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Go for a bike ride<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL) is a local nonprofit who has recently launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/detroitpal.org\/sixdegreesofseparation\/\">6\u00b0 of separation campaign<\/a> to check-in on family and friends while many are socially isolated. All you have to do is commit to check-in on 6 people in your life on the 6th, 16th, and 26th throughout May and June. The idea might be simple \u2013 but your impact might be simply amazing! \u2022 Take the <a href=\"https:\/\/detroitpal.org\/sixdegreesofseparation\/\">6\u00b0 of Separation Pledge<\/a> from Detroit PAL <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Let us know that you\u2019re in for connecting with others! Post your support on social media and tag <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">#CheckingInSavesLives and <\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">#HealthyKidsQuarantined<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nutrition and Healthy Eating<\/strong><br><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Build a Smoothie Bowl<\/span><\/strong><br>It\u2019s Friday and we\u2019re treating ourselves to a smoothie bowl! Eating a smoothie bowl will make your children feel like they are indulging in ice cream when in fact they are eating something good for them.<br>Smoothie bowls, like smoothies are full of nutritious ingredients like fruit and vegetables- but they are a thicker consistency. Have your children grab a spoon and give it a try! Share your creation online using <span class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\"><strong>#healthykidsquarantined<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients:<br>\u2022 1 banana frozen<br>\u2022 1\u00bd cups frozen berries<br>\u2022 \u00bd cup milk (almond or coconut work too)<br>\u2022 Optional toppings- low fat granola\/whole grain cereal, seeds nuts, more fruit<br>Instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Combine frozen banana, frozen strawberries, and milk in a blender<\/li><li>Puree until completely smooth &#8211; the mixture should be thick<\/li><li>Add a touch more liquid if necessary to get it to blend completely smooth<\/li><li>Transfer to a bowl and add toppings as desired.
