Agenda:\u00a0<\/b>We will continue brainstorm individually on what topic to write on for our free verse memoirs. We will expand on our chosen “seed” stories by brainstorming what elements can be included in the poem, such as the 5 W’s, emotions and the “lesson learned”. We will then look at an excerpt from “Out of the Dust” called “The Accident” and take note of the types of figurative language used to convey emotion. Then, we will focus on the emotions brainstormed in our “seed” stories and begin to map out how we will convey these emotions in our free verse poems using different poetic devices.<\/p>\n
