Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

 

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Continue reading

Testing schedule for this week

hello everyone-

here is the schedule for testing this week:

monday- regular day

tuesday- SAT test takers only (11th, some 12th graders)  Released at 12:40

wednesday- Workeys test in morning for 11th/12th graders,  afternoon 10:15-2:15 9th and 10th graders taking the PSAT

thursday-  Mstep test in the morning, 4th-6th hours in the afternoon

friday-regular day

CAREER DAY presenters

Hello-  This Thursday, March 24th from 8:30-10:30 the ninth graders will be attending a Career Fair with 15 different presenters.  The fair will be held at Edsel and the students will be split into 4 different groups to get the most out of this experience. Most of the presenters are EF alumni and are proud to come back and share their knowledge.  I have attached the names of all the presenters.  Ask your kids about it when they get home on Thursday!

Peer Mediators Needed!

Is your son or daughter good at resolving conflict? We are looking for 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students that would like to be peer mediators here at Edsel.  Our first training will be on Feb 23rd. The following trainings will be on Mar 8th, 10th, and 15th.  Please see Mrs Haddad during 1st-3rd hours upstairs in A200 to sign up.  We will begin the the peer mediation program mid to late March.  Thank you!

Brome Burger Jan 28th!!

Please support Dearborn Public Schools this Thursday, Jan 28th by eating at Brome Burger!  It’s a half day and their burgers are really good!  Just mention Dearborn Public Schools and 15% of your bill will go towards 3 $1000 scholarships to students from each of the three high schools.  Students are selected based on community service, leadership, and the ability to unite their schools and community.  Please support this worthy cause!

Cocoa and Cram for finals!!

Hey Freshmen-  your link leaders want to help you prepare for finals!  Come to Cocoa and Cram to study for finals on Wednesday, Jan 20th from 2:30-3:30 upstairs in the academy.  Hot chocolate and baked goods will be provided!  Bring homework/study guides and questions so that we can help you prepare.  Finals week begins the week of Jan 25th.
