A big thank you to Leona’s mom for sharing her job with the kids. She shared about her nail tech job and how she’s trained to cut hair. This was a great opportunity to talk with the students about scissors and what is appropriate to cut. Later in the day, I plugged in a hair dryer and we all came up to see how hot it can get. I also showed them a hair straightener without plugging it in. We talked about safety and about how grown ups are the only ones who can use them. Then we got to cut paper hair and decorate paper nails! Everyone had a really good time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
