{"id":1119,"date":"2017-08-13T21:50:16","date_gmt":"2017-08-14T01:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/duquetk\/?page_id=1119"},"modified":"2018-05-03T10:34:15","modified_gmt":"2018-05-03T14:34:15","slug":"grading-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/duquetk\/grading-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"GRADING POLICY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>7th Grade Science<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grading Policy<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FORMATIVE GRADES<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Bellwork<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Bellwork is given most days at the beginning of the class period. \u00a0Students are to write a title, and date on each bellwork. \u00a0Students are to completely answer the question and be ready to share. \u00a0After students complete about 10 bellwork assignments, students will hand in for a grade. \u00a0Students should have their bellwork with them every day and be ready to turn it in when asked. \u00a0Students will not be allowed to turn in bellwork after bellwork is corrected and handed back. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>3-2-1 Article of the Week<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Students will be assigned an article from the SuperScience magazine three times each marking period. After reading the article, students are to do the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Write three science vocabulary words. \u00a0Next to each word write why it is important to the article.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Write two interesting facts found in the article. \u00a0Next to each fact explain why you found them interesting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Write one summary of the article. Summary should be 3-5 sentences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Interactive Notebook Checks-<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0Students are to complete much of their work in their Interactive science notebook. \u00a0Near the end of each marking period I will check to see if all the work is completed appropriately. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Worksheets- <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When worksheets are assigned, a due date will be given. \u00a0On that due date we may correct the worksheets as a class. \u00a0Students will not be allowed to turn in the worksheet for a grade after it is corrected in class.
