Parents\/guardians can pick up report cards in the cafeteria or gym. \u00a0Each teacher will hold the conferences in his\/her classroom. \u00a0Each conference has a time limit of 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In the 6th grade, we will continue to focus on narrative text features, focusing on point of view, theme, mood, tone, and interpretation. \u00a0In the 7th grade, we will continue to intersperse poetry with narrative text. \u00a0Poetry will focus on rhyme scheme, tone, mood, figurative language, and interpretation. \u00a0The narrative text will focus on point of view, theme, mood, tone, and interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>The spring NWEA assessment will be upon us in April. \u00a0The M-STEP assessment will be upon us in April \/ May.<\/p>\n<p>Please continue to read 20 minutes a night. \u00a0Please continue to be engaged in the classroom readings and discussions. \u00a0Each of us can learn from other people&#8217;s points of view and experiences. \u00a0That is one of the beautiful things about teaching language arts. \u00a0The students that participate continue to grow in their thought processes and advance. \u00a0The students that refuse to participate will remain stagnant in their thought processes.<\/p>\n<p>Have a great week!!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you,<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Drinkert<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is parent-teacher conferences for the middle school students from 3:15 PM to 6:15 PM. \u00a0This is a first come, first served process.
