{"id":282,"date":"2017-01-10T13:48:52","date_gmt":"2017-01-10T18:48:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/drinkes\/?p=282"},"modified":"2017-01-10T13:48:52","modified_gmt":"2017-01-10T18:48:52","slug":"the-week-of-january-9-13-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iblog.dearbornschools.org\/drinkes\/2017\/01\/10\/the-week-of-january-9-13-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"The week of January 9 &#8211; 13, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year!! \u00a0I trust that everyone had a restful break. \u00a0The coming weeks are busy. \u00a0This week, we will begin the NWEA Math test on Wednesday through Friday (January 11 &#8211; 13).<\/p>\n<p>We do not have school on Monday, January 16th, to observe Martin Luther King, Jr.&#8217;s Remembrance Day. \u00a0Then, January 17th through the 19th, we will take the NWEA Reading test.<\/p>\n<p>The reading and math tests will be used to begin placing students for summer school. \u00a0If your son\/daughter is two grades or lower below grade level in math and\/or reading, he\/she will be recommended for summer school.<\/p>\n<p>For Language Arts class, aside from testing, we will continue focusing on figurative language. \u00a0Test re-takes will be given some time next week after school. \u00a0In order for a student to take the test re-take, he\/she will need to correct the original test errors, have a parent signature on the original test, complete two assignments, plus fill out the test re-take ticket. \u00a0Failure to complete all tasks in a timely fashion will result in a denial to take the re-take.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you,<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Drinkert<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year!! \u00a0I trust that everyone had a restful break. \u00a0The coming weeks are busy. \u00a0This week, we will begin the NWEA Math test on Wednesday through Friday (January 11 &#8211; 13).
